Atlanta United falls 1-0 to the New England Revolution Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
In the 28th minute, Atlanta thought they found the first goal of the match. Brooks Lennon brings the ball down on the right side of the field after Pedro Amador's cross is blocked. He lays it off to Miguel Almirón at the top of the 18 and finds the top left corner.

After a VAR check, the referee ruled that Amador was offside in the buildup. The match would remain scoreless until the 36th minute.
Latte Lath fouled Carles Gil in the box in the 34th minute and the referee awarded the Revolution a penalty kick. Gil steps up and gives New England the 1-0 lead.

Atlanta thought they found the equalizer early in the second half, but it was called offside. The Five Stripes continued to fight all throughout the second half to try and find the equalizer, but couldn't find the breakthrough.
“For me just trying to get a winning mentality in our heads, in training we play every drill to win, to compete, and beat each other," said Jay Fortune. "If we do that in training, we can transfer it on to the games and it helps.”
In the 85th minute, Jamal Thiaré's header hit the post that kept the match at 1-0, and Atlanta would continue to create opportunities, but couldn't find the back of the net.

Atlanta had 18 shots and five shots on goal and the Revolution had 12 shots and seven on goal.
"We need to stick together now, the whole Club, all the players, the staff, fans, everybody. Everybody is in this situation together, and we want to turn it around, so to start blaming each other now, or trying to find one person that is the cause of the problem is just stupid. We have to build each other up, and we have to be positive," said Ronny Deila after the match. "We need to come out next weekend and get something out of the matches, that is the main thing. I have been in this situation many times, and is frustrating, but if we were playing really bad and not creating anything then I would be more worried. I say again, it is crazy that we come out of this match with nothing. A draw, ok, I can live with that, but to lose, I do not think we deserved that."
Atlanta United goes on the road to face the Philadelphia Union next Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
