After a historical first season in Women's Premier Soccer League, Decatur FC brings in Joel Gould as the new General Manager.
Gould played a huge role in Decatur FC's inaugural season, and will take on an expanded leadership role to continue to help the club as they prepare for the 2025 season.

“It’s an honor to take on this role and continue the journey with Decatur FC. Last season, we saw the incredible potential of this team and the support of our community," said Gould. "Our leadership team is committed to enhancing both the game experience and our community engagement, and I can’t wait to see what we achieve together.”
In 2024, Decatur FC was named Franchise of the Year in the WPSL while also setting he league's top two all-time attendance records. They set a new all-time attendance record for the WPSL back on June 7, 2024 against Georgia Impact.
2,126 fans watched the 0-0 draw between the local Georgia rivals. This number broke the previous WPSL record which was 1,847 fans.

“Joel’s been with us from day one, so he knows what it took to get here,” said Owner Gareth O’Sullivan in a press release on Monday. “He’s a true believer in women’s sports and understands the importance of connecting with our community while building a competitive team. We’re lucky to have him in this new role as we work to make this season even better for our fans and players.”
Decatur FC finished 2nd in their conference, 4th in the South Region and 16th overall among 130 teams. They will be looking to continue their success as they look forward to the 2025 season which will kick off in May.

“Joel’s heart is really in it—he understands that this team is about more than just the game. His dedication to the players and the city of Decatur is why he’s the perfect choice to help us take the next step," said Head Coach Campbell Chapman. "I couldn’t be more excited to have him as part of our leadership.”
