Atlanta United will travel to Music City to face off against Nashville FC Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is at 1:55 p.m., you can watch on Apple TV's MLS Season Pass or on FOX while you can listen on 92.9 The Game and the Audacy app starting at 12:30 p.m.
This is the Five Stripes' second away match this week. They traveled to FC Cincinnati on Wednesday where they lost 1-0. Atlanta is looking to break their seven game winless streak tomorrow versus Nashville SC.
“I told the players today, let’s be in the present. We’re not playing the third half against Cincinnati,” said Head Coach Gonzalo Pineda today after training. “After losing a couple of games, you have that negative mindset of the last game, but we are not playing the last game. We are playing this new game against Nashville.”
“If we had won the last three games, Nashville away would be a difficult task regardless of if we are winning or losing,” said Pineda. “I told them to live in the present and I have to do the same.”
Stian Gregersen said the same thing when talking to the media today after training. He is happy that this game is coming up so fast because it gives the team a new opportunity to prove themselves. He also emphasized how important it is for the team to think about one game at a time.
“Tomorrow is going to be a final for us,” said Stian Gregersen after training today. “We are going to give everything and don’t misunderstand, we gave everything in the other games also, but this is going to be a little bit special. For tomorrow, it is going to be a final for us and we’re going to bleed for the jersey.”
This will be Nashville’s first match without Gary Smith as it was announced on Thursday that he would depart from the club after seven seasons. Former player and current Player Development Coach Rumba Munthali will be the Interim Head Coach while Nashville searches for Smith’s replacement.
